The Furman trail is the oldest transport connection through the Gates of Postojna, where the horse and cart drivers of the past used to transport long masts and other ship timber to the ports of the Northern Adriatic. On the way through the village of Planina, you will be reminded of those times by old horse and cart driver taverns and homesteads with wide eaves and large courtyards.
The Furman Cycling Trail runs along the ancient route of the Furman or Mast Road which ran between Planina and Razdrto.
